Redeemer is full of vibrant young ones and we eagerly teach them to know and worship God through Sunday morning activities.

We believe that our formation begins in worship. As a result, we joyfully welcome children into our worship service. We know that small children often make noise. Children were no different in Jesus’ day, and yet he invited them to himself, without regard for the distractions they might present (Mt. 18-19). While we ask parents to be considerate and sensitive to others, as a congregation, we have a high tolerance for the presence of children in worship and greatly value whole families learning to worship together; parent and child alike.

To make this a good experience for you and your children, we do encourage you to train and disciple your children to not simply sit still through the service (though there are times for this), but to engage the service as much as possible. That’s one of the advantages of liturgical worship; there is enough repetition that even small children can be taught how to participate and can quickly and joyfully learn when to stand, kneel, sit quietly, raise their hands, and shout “Amen!” To assist our younger children during the service, activity sheets will be provided at the beginning of the sermon to help them remain engaged and learning.

With this said, we recognize that parents have the authority to determine the best way to integrate their children into the life and worship of the community. Therefore, we offer a nursery for infants and young children.  The service can be heard from downstairs, so if you need to take a child out of the service, you can still listen/participate from outside of the sanctuary.

Nursery

Our youngest children (birth - 3 years of age) are lovingly cared for in our nursery program each Sunday. Children in the nursery are taught an age-appropriate Bible lesson (songs, story and craft), play, and enjoy a snack together.

Our nursery is located downstairs, beneath the sanctuary. All of our childcare workers and volunteers are safety trained and have passed a current background check.
