Maundy Thursday is a service that commemorates the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples on the night before his crucifixion. The service derives its name from the Latin word for "command," (Mandatum) which and refers to Jesus' commandment to the disciples that they should "Love one another as I have loved you" (John 13:34).
Join us as we gather at Church of the Apostles for a Maundy Thursday Service. Childcare will be provided for children ages 0 - 3.
Lent begins at the Ash Wednesday service (this Wednesday at 6pm), where we are reminded of our mortality and our need for a savior. At this service we will receive the mark of the cross, made in ash*, on our forehead. The ashes remind us that we were created from the dust and we will return to the dust (Genesis 3:19). The cross reminds us of our hope for life beyond death. Ash Wednesday is a powerful service and we encourage you all to attend.
Our annual meting is an opportunity for us to look back over the past year and look ahead to where we are going, get updates on the church’s financial situation and ask any questions you have about the church. We will also be voting as a church on the slate of new candidates for Leadership Council. V
